3 Top Toys From Toy Fair 2013

battleborgs

We got a lot of toy news from the Toy Fair 2013.  There were a lot of new exciting toys announced at the fair.  It still a little early to be looking for christmas toys for kids, but let’s take a look at some of the most memorable toys at the show.

Scalextric Demolition Derby

Scalextric cars appeared on the market only a few years ago, but everyone seems to love them already. They sold well online. Kids can create many different tracks with each included set. They are not the most detailed scale cars but they look pretty cool regardless. The sets come with decals that can be used to give the cars more details.

If you ask us the best part is crashing the cars into each other. Scalextric has finally given us a set where the whole design is centered on destruction.  The high impact cars are designed in such a way to take a beating. Each set features build-able cars that are made out of Lego-like blocks. The blocks actually look like they are compatible with Legos so kids can feel free to modify the cars. The track is designed in such a way that the track overlaps at a intersection. You can guess what comes next. Bam! The idea is to crash the cars into each other. Upon impact, the cars splatter into pieces. It’s fun watching the cars explode on impact and putting them back together. If your looking to give toys as Christmas gifts, you might want to check out Scalextric.

Tomy Battleborg Robots

Battleborg Robots are a huge success in Japan. Now Tomy is bringing the fun stateside. Kids who love battling with each other are going to love these battling robots. They come with Wii-like controllers. When the controllers are wiggled around, the robots will throw punches at each other. The objective is to hit your opponent five times in the head before they do the same to you. When you manage to connect a punch, the robot will light up, notifying you that it has been hit. In addition to the battling robots, there will be sets sold in which the robots can do battle in. Unfortunately, there is no way to control the direction of your robot so you will have to reposition your robot every now and then. Still, it is extremely fun to let it rip. We wager a bet that the Tomy Battborg Robots are Christmas toys that will make children happy.

VTech InnoTab 2S

Ever since the iPad came out, toy manufacturers have decided to create their own kid friendly versions of it. It is interesting to see the impact of toys on kids. Since the iPad came out, many parents have discussed whether they want their kids to play with the top toys or the iPad. Parents looking for a way to keep their children away from their iPad should take a look at the InnoTab 2S.  VTech has now included a swivel camera on it so that kids can take picture of themselves. They can flip it around the take pictures on the other side of the device as well. This version of the InnoTab now supports Wi Fi which means that you can download new apps to the device without having to rely on physical cartridges. Kids can play everything from books to games. Don’t worry, kids can’t download the apps from the device. Instead, parents can only make purchases
